The Alabama VRS Blind and Deaf Program "provides specialized assistance to Alabamians statewide through its four major programs: Blind and Low-Vision Services, Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Services, OASIS (Older Alabamians System of Information and Services), and the Business Enterprise Program."

LIBRARY SERVICES
alabama State Library
Provides digital recordings of books on cartridges - along with the equipment on which to play them - to patrons who meet the criteria for service. Once an application is received and approved, the cartridge does not have to come to BPH - all materials are mailed to them and they are allowed to keep the cartridges for three months. No fines are assessed for overdue or lost materials. All material and equipment is free and provided through the National Library Service (NLS), a division of the Library of Congress.

NATIONAL FEDERATION FOR THE BLIND - ALABAMA CHAPTER
The NFB has affiliates has affiliates in all 50 states and Puerto Rico. They provide programs, services , and resources for the blind, visually impaired and their families.
ALABAMA INSTITUTE FOR THE DEAF AND BLIND
Their "services literally span a lifetime including five campuses in Talladega, ten regional centers located in Birmingham, Decatur, Dothan, Huntsville, Mobile, Montgomery, Opelika, Talladega, Tuscaloosa and Shoals with programs that range from early and senior intervention, traditional and nontraditional education services in residential and outreach settings and a manufacturing facility that is the state’s largest employer of adults who are blind and deaf."
